February 2, 2009, 9:53 AMHi guys, thanks for support. If you can comment on the plugin page next time I’d be appreciated. Greg, I tried your in 2-3 times. It works without problem. Can you double check you’re doing exact same steps that usage tells? Megavideo, and couple more enhancements will be on next release. But I’m pretty busy in these days. It might take a while. Thanks ur support again..
February 2, 2009, 11:03 AMHi 1. Unzip and upload to plug folder 2. Activate plugin 3. Insert your test text in a new post in html view. 4. Nothing happe , see only the text;( i use the latest wp version … Hmhm
February 2, 2009, 11:52 PMGreg, can you post your test url to me?
February 3, 2009, 1:39 AMi dont have to download the flashplayer from longtail..?? i try it on a clean install now..
February 3, 2009, 4:42 AM:) now i have this text in the field, –ProPlayer requires at least PHP version 5 or newer to run!– but my host system run with php5 — hmhm :) where is the problem
February 3, 2009, 9:23 AMnow wok. i insert — Action php /cgi-php52/php AddHandler php52 .php in my htaccess :) but its possible to ad an still image for video
February 7, 2009, 8:22 AMIt would be nice if the player could look for a preview image with the same name as the video. So if I upload an video “example2.flv” and a picture “example2.jpg” the player would use this preview image for the video.
February 12, 2009, 1:57 AMHi, it’s very nice plugin. But it really slow down my website. Hope it can be more lightweight. Or it’s because my website is on shared hosting? Hmm…
February 12, 2009, 3:12 AMTommy, it’s probably related with your host. What plugin does is connecting to youtube, etc.. just once every time you hit the page. But it’s just raw connection. I’m not staying there or anything.. Yes it’s gonna reduce the load time for sure. But there is no other way to receive video information. Sorry for that. And if you’re not doing a video blogging, or video podcasting, the overhead is so reasonable.
Josh, for video preview, I can add a logic for that, but I really can’t see a real business use case for this. But I’ll keep in mind.
February 12, 2009, 10:48 AMHi, Thanks for your product. Its a great plug-in. i need to know that am i able to use this plug-in in my cummercial website. is this pulg-in comes under youtube and video services terms. and is this long-term product? or its dependes on videos sources parametrs.
how do we use for other sources like meta cafe..etc
February 13, 2009, 10:55 PMI was following the Installation instructions, but when I try to activate the plugin I get this message at the top of Manage Plugins page.
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in E:\sites***.biz\wordpress\wp-content\plugins\proplayer\pro-player.php on line 391
Any ideas?
February 15, 2009, 5:55 AMHello, sorry for my language but this plugins doesn’t work on internet explorer or firefox on PC but it’s perfect on MAC test : http://www.instituthypnofeel.com/?page_id=52

Message: ‘J.parentNode’ is null or not an object Line: 5 Char: 1913 Code: 0 URI: http://www.stiriweb.com/wp-content/plugins/proplayer/js/swfobject.js
This error occurs not only in my IE 7 and IE 8 at least these have worked. Can remedy this error? Thank you in advance.
February 15, 2009, 11:08 PMIsogoksu

thats really important for now. . . . . 40% o my visitors are IE user
good luck!!!
February 19, 2009, 6:11 AMProblem here: When I add a youtube link, proplayer can “see” only part of it. For example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEFpc6McwF4, but PP sees only http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEFpc6 (only 6 chars in the video ID)
February 19, 2009, 7:58 AMCan you send player code Mukizu? I don’t understand how pro-player code cuts it :S
February 19, 2009, 3:40 PMI just upgraded to the new versions 2.7 Now my videos do not show up. I get the following error message:
Fatal error: Cannot use object of type ProPlayer as array in /www/htdocs/w00a9f53/MyEbookReseller/blog/wp-content/plugins/proplayer/playlist-controller.php on line 53
Any idea how to fix this?
All the best, Andy

February 21, 2009, 6:48 AMhi in 2.7 version i think theres a bug . . .i dont know what its exactly but my wp cant load and now i reverted back my pro player to 2.01
February 21, 2009, 7:16 AMHi Andreas,
This is related with PHP version of your server I assume. I removed php 4 support. I wrote this in the FAQ section. Could you double check you have php 5+?
If it is php 5, then just post me your player code too.
February 21, 2009, 2:03 PMHI isogoksu :)
nice for the updates its so fast . . . . i will try 2.7.1 later .. . . or maybe i should wait for another version .. i will stay to 2.0.1 for now :)
do you have any idea why internet explorer cant view proplayer? theres a error its said .js something . . .i forgot . .
February 22, 2009, 9:00 AMRen,
I tried up to IE 7, so far no problem. Following browsers are tested: IE6, IE7, FF2, FF3, Safari 3, Opera 9 and no problem for any of them. However, I didn’t check IE 8.
For your error, it’s SwfObject problem. Current version 2.1, AFAIK doesn’t support IE8. When they released new version, I’ll update the plugin don’t worry :)
February 22, 2009, 1:34 PMHi, I’m getting an error with version 2.7.1. This error: “XML Parsing Error: no element found Location: /post.php Line Number 1, Column 1:
^ ” I’ve deactivated your plugin and then the error goes away, if I then activate it again I get this error again. Do you have any idea what it could be?
February 23, 2009, 1:04 AMThere is still the same problem with XML in v.2.7.5.
February 23, 2009, 2:56 AMinstalled via add new… it installs and activates but then if i try to add another plugin i get this every time i click on a plugin discription
The XML page cannot be displayed Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.
The server did not understand the request, or the request was invalid. Error processing resource ‘http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtm…
if i disable the plugins the addnew plugin discriptions popup fine.
February 23, 2009, 4:43 AMHi again, and sorry for me commenting this much. I guess the error I’m seeing has to do with the playlist-controller.php code. If you like you can try to comment on any of my posts on my site and you’ll see the error and what I mean. Thanks in advance, and I really like the player you’ve done.
February 23, 2009, 7:24 AMHi Isa, problem with XML solved with v.2.7.7. Thanks :)
February 24, 2009, 1:56 AMOoops, sorry there is still a problem with xml in v.2.7.7. I was too fast to comment.
February 24, 2009, 1:57 AMOk, I’ve temporarily solved my problem by replacing Content-type: application/xml with Content-type: text/plain. That works for me and doesn’t show that xml error.
February 24, 2009, 3:12 AMHowever, when changing to text/plain I break the plugininstaller.
February 24, 2009, 9:28 AMIsa, Having a problem with 2.7.7. When I write and save a new post, I get an error regardless if I insert proplayer or not. Basically, I get a message, “Your attempt to edit this post: “Foobar” has failed.”, and the post doesn’t save. Also, I can no longer edit permalink urls with proplayer plugin activated. It could be a conflict with another plugin, but wordpress works fine when proplayer is deactivated.

February 27, 2009, 8:14 AMHi guys,
I wrote late, sorry for that. Please go check plugin page. If you comment here, you’ll probably miss the answers. ‘Coz those questions are already asked and I replied.
Thanks for understanding.
March 1, 2009, 12:32 AMhello isa, i active this plugin but recources had slowly, set time is normal 0.20 and after active pro-player is 2.53
please resolve this problem
March 3, 2009, 2:17 PMBekalus, I don’t understand what do you mean by set time? Player is reaching remote sources and parsing their FLV file. If you’re using any non-local link which is hosted some other servers, there will be an overhead.
Does it make sense?
March 4, 2009, 6:41 PMIsa, set time is Script Execution time, and when plugin is actived my execution time is 2.5 , and if plugin is deactived 0.2-0.4
and makeITeasy, plugin is nice but coding… made problem with CPU
have a great day ;)
March 5, 2009, 11:36 PMHi Bekalus,
I got it now. Well, the thing is I’m invoking all the URLs that you put in the file area one by one, to retrieve the FLV files. Every hit means that you need to transfer data over HTTP stream, which will give you overhead for every file. If you have one file and one video in your page, and if your average page load is say 2sec normally, it’s gonna be 3-4 sec because of remote access. And ur CPU use will also be increased exact same amount when you hit that URL standalone. There is nothing I can do about it. For JS performance, I’m using SWFObject so I don’t have any idea what that guy put in his code. But people are using that all the time so IDK..
However, if you have any suggestion I’m releasing 3.0 right now. I wanna know before release, maybe we can tweak ;)
March 5, 2009, 11:46 PMmerhaba, bu plug-in’i WP olmayan biryerde çalışması için düzenledim, fakat ufak bir problem var eğer dosya local değil ise çalıştırmıyor. sebebi ne olabilir?
April 3, 2009, 12:51 AM@murat eger dosyalarin herhangi bir web server altinda degilse calismaz. eger web container’da duruyorsa calismasi lazim. calismiyorsa longtail video’nun forumuna bir bak.
hi murat, u took apart the plugin from WP and u’re asking why your files are not working at local after moving? all files should be under a web server container. if it is there it must be running. otherwise just check longtail video forum page.
April 3, 2009, 2:00 PMI wonder if the plugin supports the mp3 file to run external server? I am trying to play the audio on the site and is not opening: The exclamation icon will appear.
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/274080
May 26, 2009, 6:00 PM@newboxters, plugin supports mp3 files. You need to point the absolute URL address. That’s it. You can find all these kinda information from the FAQ page (WP Plugin URL).
